01. Heimtextil 2020

The biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles held in Frankfurt, where Himêya was introduced for the first time to a global audience. Our display showcased a preview of Vitamin-D, our third collection of conscious bath and bedding with new product developments.

02. Vitamin-D

‘To live simply in these times is a positive challenge…’

These words from our Vitamin-D collection note conceived last year appear prophetic. Proposing lightness, our most evolved offering yet features nature’s forms derived from cyanotype impressions and topography — in prints and jacquards, complemented with grindled flannels and plains. 

Fresh introductions include our Sustainable Semul Pillow, Flannel Blankets and an expansive towel range, of which the traditional lightweight cotton ‘Gamchha’ and Rescue Towel made from waste yarns are a must-have. Discover it all here.

03. At Home With...

As working from home shifted from novelty to norm, we adjusted our fun interview series with inspiring tastemakers to find out how they were keeping up. A big thank you to Samyukta Nair, Pooja Dhingra, Annika Fernando, Rina Singh, Radhika Chopra, Mira Nair, Rahul Khanna, Ruchika Sachdeva, Lotta Agaton and Nimish Shah for your candid revelations. In addition to their insights on the art of living, they were some of our most meaningful connections this year!

04. Eco Packaging

Another precious outcome has been the hours spent perfecting our repurposed packaging. Plenty thought went into little details that make all the difference – and in achieving our larger goal of zero waste.⁣

⁣The bag itself is made with 100% natural-neutral cotton, with twill ribbon for our signature bud and drawstring. Our brand and product tags are made from FSC certified and 100% recycled paper along with a note on the collection in 100% cotton fabric. While all our bags are meant for keeps, our soft and warm flannel blankets arrive in a self-bag made with their own fabric which is ideal for storage or reuse.⁣

05. EDIDA India 2020 ~ Innovation in Fabric Award

 

Incepted in 2003, EDIDA (Elle Deco International Design Award) is a highly coveted product design award. The domestic version, EDIDA India, is currently in its 19th year where creations across 13 categories are felicitated. A sweet culmination to December has been to receive the honour for fabric innovation in our latest collection, Vitamin-D.

 

With new markets and beginnings on the horizon for 2021, I feel good about putting 2020 to bed. Milestones aside, the intangible value of extended time both in solitude and with loved ones marks this year as one for the books.
